The active ingredient in Mounjaro is tirzepatide.

Mounjaro is a prescription weight loss medication, administered using a pre-filled injection pen once a week. Mounjaro can be injected under the skin of the stomach, thigh or upper arm.
It contains the active ingredient tirzepatide, which acts on two naturally occurring hormones in the intestine: glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP) and GLP-1 (glucagon-like peptide-1).
Tirzepatide increases the body’s secretion of, and sensitivity to, insulin.
